French Officer’s style flintlock pistol with lock signed “Mfg A Versailles” and barrel signed in script “Ent de Boutet”. Measures 14 ½” overall with an 8 ½” barrel of .69 caliber smoothbore. Full stock with brass mounts. Very small barrel makers proof at breech is illegible. Very good plus condition with some minor losses of wood along the top of the stock near muzzle. Original flintlock configuration with correct small parts. Boutet was the super intendant of the Versailles Arsenal and made arms for Napoleon Bonaparte and top French generals and officers. The inscriptions are authentic and from a premier French Collector. Est.: $2500-$5000
